I have been here many times, yet somehow whenever I catch up to them they are always like, “Oh, uh…..my friends and I were just being stupid” or “Oh this is a dare.” or “HEll yeah I listen to Evenesance all the time!! She’s so goth! Katy Perry is too now!” Ode to life in a small town.
That is even worse and more sad. :(
If they seem intelligent and interested try converting them. I know many Gothy-types are introverted, so I may be asking a lot, but it’s honestly worth it if they’re cool kids who just don’t know any better yet. :)
You’re right. I should give them the name of a few bands and some online/tumblr sites before I walk away disappointed. However, being 21 and living in a small town, I don’t feel I could truly take the time to help them come full circle into their gothyness out of the natural fear of the possibility of their Christian parents(and I say Christian because 80% of this town is very right wing Christian just a fact) would think that I am just adding to some delinquency or trying to bring their kids into a cult. This doesn’t stop me from saying anything in passing though and you’re right I should. Thank you!!
